In the Scientific Council of the Integrated Railway Network – Poland’s strategic project of CPK, PKP, IRMiR and the Ministry of Infrastructure

I have been appointed to the Scientific Council of the Integrated Railway Network Project (#ZSK).

ZSK is Poland’s strategic planning project implemented by the Centralny Port Komunikacyjny, PKP Polskie Linie Kolejowe SA and the Institute of Urban and Regional Development on behalf of the Ministry of Infrastructure. Its aim is to develop the target layout of the Polish railway network in a way that maximizes long-term benefits from the point of view of society, economy, defense and regional development. It will be the basis for national strategic documents and legal acts guaranteeing its construction for many years.

The role of the Scientific Council is to support work on ZSK using interdisciplinary scientific knowledge, including indicating directions of analysis, developing guidelines and giving opinions on design materials.

I consider the invitation to the Scientific Council as an honor for the Wroclaw University of Economics and Business, my Department of Spatial Economy and Self-Governed Administration and, of course, for me, for which I am very grateful! I believe that my knowledge and experience from 30 years of work on the development strategies of many communes/cities, counties and regions and from training hundreds of public leaders will contribute to achieving the goal of this groundbreaking project, in which all the Poland’s regions have placed great hopes.
