A good municipal development strategy. The Daily Legal Gazette is sounding the alarm, and in Wasilków they already know how it is done.

A good municipal development strategy. The Daily Legal Gazette is sounding the alarm, and in Wasilków they already know how it is done.

Simply adopting a commune development strategy in compliance with legal requirements is not enough in Poland. The strategy must be substantively sound, and it must be preceded by a good diagnosis. Otherwise, there will be many problems… Professional journal Dziennik Gazeta Prawna writes about this: bit.ly/hjsaam Be sure to read it! I am glad that Poland’s municipal authorities are becoming increasingly aware of all this. Anyone (including ones outside of Poland) who has questions is welcome to get in touch with me.

In the Polish commune Miasto i Gmina Wasilków, they understand this well and, through six days of workshops, they involve inhabitants, entrepreneurs, farmers, and neighboring municipalities, including the City of Miasto Białystok, which was personally represented by President Tadeusz Truskolaski. I am leading these workshops, and I assess the participants’ engagement and ideas as excellent. At the same time, large-scale survey research is underway. What is more, the commune authorities and the entire management staff completed a two-day training course in preparation for all of this.

Congratulations, Mayor Adrian Łuckiewicz. This is exactly how a good commune development strategy is built.
